Tips for Attendees
Flowers: Please plan ahead and preorder your flowers:
- Accommodations: If anyone in your group has a disability and requires special accommodation, please contact the recognition coordinator, Therese Hecht (thecht@kumc.edu), no later than December 1, 2026.
- Emergency Notifications: If you would like to receive emergency text notifications while on-site for the event, you can text “Jayhawk” to 226787. Your registration will expire after 24 hours, so wait until the morning of the event.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can friends and family members of students attend the ceremony?
Yes! Families and friends of graduating students are invited to attend in person, and the ceremonies will be live streamed for those that prefer to attend virtually.
Are tickets required?
No. Tickets are not required for attendance.
How early can friends and family arrive?
Please arrive no earlier than 10:15 a.m.
If I’m unable to watch the ceremony, will there be a recording posted online to view later?
Yes, the ceremony recording will be available to watch on YouTube within a few days.
Where should I park?
Please utilize Lot 54 across from Murphy Hall for parking during our event. If this lot fills, please park in Lot 72 next to the Allen Fieldhouse Parking Garage. For guests with accessibility concerns, you are welcome to utilize the drop off area at the Murphy Building Entrance off Naismith Dr.
How can I order professional photos?
Please register with The Grad Team, who will be taking photos during our ceremony. Students will be asked to provide a clear photo to use for matching ceremony photos.
Will there be an American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter at the ceremony?
Yes, we will have an American Sign Language interpreter present at the ceremony. Please contact the recognition coordinator to request seating within proximity.
