This comprehensive report includes over 84 pages of charts and information about the supply and characteristics of Kansas’ nursing workforce trends over ten years, 2015 to 2025. The data included compare the Kansas workforce to the national nursing workforce for Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Registered Nurses (RNs), and Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs). Where Nursing WILL: Workforce, Innovation, Leadership and Learning
The Kansas Nursing Workforce Center, based at the University of Kansas School of Nursing, will ensure Kansans have access to nurses when and where they need them and will support nurses both individually and as part of the health care team.
Broad collaboration is required to solve nursing sustainability issues in order to assure positive health outcomes for patients. We welcome ideas and participation from everyone invested in assuring the Kansas nursing workforce is empowered to deliver the best care possible.
The Kansas Nursing Workforce Center is foundationally steeped in research, education and policy development. We use science and evidence-based practices to examine information, provide solutions, and generate new knowledge in specific focus areas.
