Judging Criteria

Poster presentations are scored from 1 (Exceptional) to 9 (Poor) in four categories:

•   Quality of Approach/Data
•   Significance of the Work
•   Quality of the Presentation (both oral and of the poster)
•   Overall Score

Judging Volunteers

We are recruiting volunteer judges for the morning and afternoon poster sessions. Judging is open to all IM faculty, and we aim to have representation from each IM division. You are still able to serve as a judge if presenting a poster - we will coordinate your presentation and judging timeslots accordingly. Awards

• All eligible posters will be judged and prizes will be announced during the awards reception. We are excited to provide six awards to support the research of the presenting author with the top poster in the following categories:
  
  Non-Trainee
  • Basic Science & Biomedical Mechanism
  • Clinical Research
  • Education & Population-Focused Research 

Trainee

• • Basic Science & Biomedical Mechanism
  • Clinical Research
  • Education & Population-Focused Research
    
    
• In addition, on behalf of the Aryeh Hurwitz M.D. and Nathaniel G. Hurwitz M.D. Research Award program, the top poster by a medical student will receive $1000 for the presenting student and $1000 for their mentor.

Award Eligibility

Awards will be presented within each poster category and are intended to recognize Internal Medicine junior faculty, research staff, residents and fellows, and KUMC students. All posters, however, will be reviewed by judges and included in the Research Day program.
