Dr. Shen grew up in the Kansas City area. He graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry from Yale University, New Haven, CT in 2011. Dr. Shen received his Medical Degree at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, Pittsburgh, PA, in 2007. He completed a residency in Radiation Oncology from Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA in 2012. Since 2020, he has been an Associate Professor in the department of radiation oncology at the University of Kansas Medical Center.
