Professional Background

Dr. William Freund, Jr, M.D., M.B.A., F.A.C.S., is an Associate Professor of Surgery in the General and Pediatric Surgery Division at the University of Kansas Medical Center. Dr. Freund was raised in the Kansas City area. He completed his undergraduate studies and medical school training at the University of Kansas, and completed his General Surgery training at East Carolina University. After being in private practice for four years, he joined the staff at the University of Kansas Hospital in 2012.
Dr. Freund practices General Surgery with an emphasis on minimally invasive techniques and outpatient surgeries. Dr Freund also believes strongly in surgical education and works hard to impart surgical information in such a way that others can understand all of the intricacies of the decision-making processes and the beauty of the events that make up an operation.
