Professional Background

Sarah Synek, OTD, OTR/L, LSVT-Big, is a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Occupational Therapy Education at KU Medical Center. Prior to joining the School of Health Professions in September 2026, she served as an inpatient occupational therapist at Madonna Rehabilitation Hospitals in Lincoln, Nebraska. Her emphasis in that role was on stroke rehabilitation and complex neurological diagnoses.

Academic Background
Synek received her doctoral degree in occupational therapy from Creighton University. She earned a bachelor's degree in psychology from University of Nebraska at Kearney.
