Stephanie Y. Murray, MD

Professional Background

Dr. Stephanie Murray, M.D., FMCP-M, is a proud Kansan with deep roots in the Flint Hills. She graduated with honors from Kansas State University with a bachelor’s degree in biology before attending the University of Kansas School of Medicine and completing her residency at Wesley Family Medicine in Wichita.

For more than a decade, Dr. Murray served as faculty with the University of Kansas School of Medicine–Wichita and the KU Family Medicine Residency at Wesley Medical Center, where she taught and mentored future physicians in both primary care and hospital medicine. She continues to practice and teach hospital medicine in the Wichita community.

Dr. Murray has completed advanced training in Functional Medicine and earned her Functional Medicine Certified Practitioner designation (FMCP-M) through the Institute for Functional Medicine.

Driven by curiosity, Dr. Murray has always been the physician asking “why?” Her motto, “Think upstream,” reflects her approach to medicine: identifying and addressing the root causes of illness rather than simply managing symptoms. She believes people are designed not merely to survive, but to thrive, and she enjoys partnering with patients to help them achieve their health goals through a personalized, evidence-based approach.

Outside of medicine, she enjoys spending time with her husband and twins, gardening, baking, crocheting, exploring the outdoors, and appreciating the beauty of the Kansas Flint Hills. She is especially proud of her handmade amigurumi creations and enjoys sharing life with her therapy-certified Goldendoodle. She also enjoys music in almost any form, reading a good book, and savoring a cup of tea.
