Overview from Program Director
The General Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship is designed to provide you with the skills required for a successful leadership career in both academic and clinical practice.
Our program is ACGME-accredited and fulfills ACGME program requirements for graduate medical education in cardiovascular diseases. You will work with patients in both in-and-outpatient settings at The University of Kansas Hospital, the 156-bed Center for Advanced Heart Care and the Kansas City VA Medical Center.

Schedule
All fellows have weekly half-day continuity clinics with staff cardiology mentors. The current night call is a night float rotation. Fellows participate in daily didactic conferences, monthly cardiovascular medicine grand rounds, cath conferences, journal clubs and ECG coding lectures. The division supports attendance at a major national meeting at each year of fellowship.
How to Apply
Applications are accepted in the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) beginning July 1. While we preferentially review applications from those who signal our program, we also consider signals in our interview offer decision-making. Your application must be complete in ERAS by August 5. A complete application means the following documents are released to our program: a recent CV, personal statement, at least three letters of recommendation, USMLE transcripts, a photo, and ECFMG certificate (international graduates).
