The University of Kansas School of Medicine prepares future physicians to serve communities across Kansas and beyond. As one medical school with three campuses, KU offers distinct educational environments in Kansas City, Salina and Wichita, providing students with opportunities to learn in urban, community-based and rural settings.
Admissions and Campus Assignment
Students apply to the University of Kansas School of Medicine M.D. program, rather than to an individual campus. Following admission, students participate in the campus selection and assignment process and have an opportunity to indicate their campus preferences.
Because enrollment capacity varies by campus, a student's preferred campus cannot be guaranteed. Campus assignments are made through the School of Medicine's established assignment process and are considered part of the student's M.D. program placement. Applicants are encouraged to learn about all three campuses and consider the educational opportunities available at each location.
The KU School of Medicine trains the next generation of medical doctors for service in urban areas, suburbs, small towns and rural areas. With campuses in Kansas City, Salina and Wichita, students have a unique opportunity to choose not only their location but also the focus of their studies.
Degree Opportunities
In addition to the M.D. program, students may pursue dual-degree opportunities, including the M.D./Ph.D. Program, M.D./Master of Public Health and M.D./Master of Health Services Administration.
