Professional Background

I knew from a young age I wanted to go to medical school, so I pursued the chance to start right away at the University of Missouri - Kansas City in their six year program. Between years five and six, I stepped away from medical school as I had the chance to earn my MBA prior to completing my MD.

Following medical school, I stayed to complete my internship in internal medicine at UMKC before moving to my hometown of Saint Louis for Anesthesia training at Wash U.

Following completion of training, I wanted to be back in Kansas City, so I joined a private practice in town where I was able to further refine my anesthetic technique. During that time, I had the chance to work with medical students which led me to jump at the chance to join the department at KU where I can work more closely with learners In the operating room.

My interests in Anesthesia include regional anesthesia, anesthesia for spine surgery, and total intravenous anesthetics.
