Michelle S. Cochran, DNP, RN
Professional Background
Dr. Michelle S. Cochran is a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Kansas School of Nursing, where she teaches in the areas of population health and global health. Her work centers on building global and community partnerships that expand experiential learning for nursing students. She founded an annual International Nursing Roundtable connecting nursing faculty worldwide.
Her scholarship and service extend to rural and global health workforce development. She serves as Academic Lead on an HRSA Advanced Nursing Education Workforce grant and as Data Coordinator on an HRSA-funded project addressing rural respiratory workforce capacity to treat long COVID.
Dr. Cochran's contributions have been recognized with the Phyllis Keeney Lawrence Teaching Award, the Women Who Lead award, and recognition as a Friend of the Office of International Programs at the University of Kansas Medical Center.
