Professional Background

Luke V. Selby, MD, MS, FACS, FSSO is a board-certified general surgeon and surgical oncologists and an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of Kansas Cancer Center. His clinical practice is focused on cutaneous malignancies, soft tissue sarcoma, and small bowel tumors. He is a recipient of a Paul Calabresi K12 Career Development Award from the University of Kansas Cancer Center and the National Cancer Institute, where he serves as the Vice-Chair of the Melanoma – Sarcoma Disease Site Working Group and Co-Leads a working group within the Clinical Trials Office focused on increasing clinical trial in locoregional therapies. He is a member of the AJCC Soft Tissue Sarcoma Expert Panel revising the 9th edition of the AJCC staging system for soft tissue sarcoma. A graduate of general surgery residency at the University of Colorado and Complex General Surgical Oncology fellowship at The Ohio State University, Dr. Selby received teaching awards at both institutions.
