Professional Background
Dr. Laura Rodriguez is a board-certified internal medicine hospitalist at the University of Kansas Health System, where she provides compassionate, patient-centered care to medically complex inpatients. She completed her internal medicine residency at the University of Colorado School of Medicine, where she trained on the Hospitalist Track with a focus on health equity.
Dr. Rodriguez earned her MD from the Medical College of Georgia and a BS in Cellular Biology, cum laude, from the University of Georgia. She has received multiple honors for academic achievement, leadership, and service, including induction into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and the Alpha Upsilon Phi Service and Leadership Honor Society.
Her clinical interests include hepatology, endocrinology, nephrology, transitions of care, and caring for underserved and Spanish-speaking patient populations. Dr. Rodriguez is also dedicated to medical education, having begun supervising and teaching medical students in the inpatient setting. She has contributed to scholarly work in hospital medicine and gastroenterology, including publications, case reports, and quality improvement initiatives.
