Research

Overview

Dr. Pebley’s work focuses on ways to address modifiable health behaviors (e.g., tobacco use, alcohol consumption, cannabis use, weight management) to improve health outcomes among individuals with chronic illnesses. Her recent work has largely focused on examining facilitators and barriers to smoking cessation among individuals with cancer, and using this information to create and assess novel smoking cessation interventions for individuals with cancer that leverage technology to improve equitable reach and access to evidence-based interventions. Dr. Pebley aims to reduce cancer-related health disparities by creating new and innovative health behavior interventions that consider the unique needs of different people, and reduce patient and provider burden.
