Professional Background

Dr. James Langworthy is an Assistant Professor in Gastroenterology that joined the KU Health System in August 2020. He completed his post-doctorate training in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. He is originally from Kansas City and was pleased to be able to return to his hometown to practice Gastroenterology following the completion of his training.

He is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. His clinical interests include general gastroenterology, esophageal diseases and disorders, celiac disease and other small bowel disorders, among others. He is trained in a variety of both endoscopic and non-endoscopic procedures, including upper endoscopy, colonoscopy, push enteroscopy, endoscopy via ostomy, percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy placement, Bravo pH capsule placement, video capsule endoscopy, pH impedance, high resolution esophageal manometry, EndoFLIP, anorectal manometry, and glucose-hydrogen breath testing.
