Professional Background

Dr. Jocelyn Hunter Rose is an Assistant Professor of Surgery in the Division of Acute Care Surgery. She is also the Program Director of the General Surgery Residency Program. She completed her bachelor’s degree at the University of Oklahoma and obtained her medical degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. She completed surgical residency at Orlando Health and completed a Surgical Critical Care fellowship at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. In the Department of Surgery she holds the role of Program Director for the General Surgery Residency Program.
She has a passion for surgical education and resident and physician wellness. She is also interested in incorporating robotic surgery into Acute Care Surgery practices. When she is not at work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two young children, exploring Kansas City
