Justin Chandler

Professional Background

Justin Chandler, M.D., is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Neurology. After completing his medical degree at the University of Utah School of Medicine, he completed an internal medicine internship, his neurology residency and a vascular neurology fellowship at the University of Rochester Medical Center.
Prior to joining the University of Kansas Medical Center, Dr. Chandler served as an instructor with Geisinger Health System and the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, training medical students, residents and vascular neurology fellows.
Dr. Chandler currently practices as a neurovascular neurohospitalist at The University of Kansas Health System at Liberty Hospital. His clinical interests include vascular neurology and internal medicine.

Research

Overview

Dr. Chandler’s research interests include vascular neurology, stroke and internal medicine. He has published and presented research carotid artery stent utilization and endovascular therapy in acute ischemic stroke, among other topics. Additionally, he’s currently at work on research related to pharmaceutical strategies for acute stroke treatment and secondary stroke prevention and guidelines for anticoagulation of LVAD patients with ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke, among other topics.
