Professional Background
Erich Wessel, DO, is an Assistant Professor of Surgery in the Division of Trauma, Critical Care & Acute Surgery at the University of Kansas Medical Center. Dr. Wessel received his medical degree from Kansas City University of Medicine & Biosciences in 2014. He completed general surgery residency at the University of Kansas Medical center in 2019. Following this he completed a Surgical Critical Care fellowship at The Ohio State in 2020. He is board certified in general surgery and surgical critical care.
Dr. Wessel has an interest in critical care, robotic surgery, point of care ultrasound, and surgical education.
