Professional Background
David Anson, M.D., is a clinical assistant professor on the clinical track in the Department of Neurology. He completed medical school at the University of Illinois College of Medicine Peoria and his neurology residency at the University of Kansas Medical Center. Following his residency, Dr. Anson remained at KU Medical Center to complete a neurocritical care fellowship in 2026.
Dr. Anson’s clinical interests include general neurology, neurocritical care and neuroimaging.
Research
Overview
Dr. Anson’s research interests include neurocritical care and epilepsy. He has presented on assessing competency in brain death evaluation and the diagnostic challenges of diagnosing brain death, and has published on the implications of current nutritional management in neurocritical care for refractory status epilepticus requiring burst suppression.
