Professional Background

Dr. Debra Altenhofen is an internist certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. She earned her medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine and completed her residency at the University of Kansas Medical Center. During her residency, she was honored to receive the Intern of the Year award, Marc Beck award for highest standards of caring and compassion, and the Mahlon H. Delp award for clinical excellence. Dr. Altenhofen worked as a hospitalist after completion of residency. In April 2023, she transitioned to the primary care setting serving patients at our Corbin Park location. She is passionate about preventative health care and is dedicated to helping patients achieve their health care goals. Dr. Altenhofen also serves at the ambulatory Associate Program Director for the University of Kansas Medical Center - Olathe Internal Medicine Residency program.
