Professional Background

Dr. Quick is actively engaged in medical student education, serving as an Assistant Director for the Cates Academic Society. In this role, he is a Problem-Based Learning (PBL) facilitator and academic coach for first- and second-year medical students. He also serves as a Specialty Liaison in the Careers and Subspecialty Advising (CASA) program, where he mentors students pursuing internal medicine and provides guidance on residency application preparation.

Dr. Quick is a Core Faculty member with the KU Internal Medicine Residency Program, where he serves as Director of the Primary Care Pathway. He plays an integral role in residency recruitment, including application review, interviewing, and ranking. He developed and leads a longitudinal health disparities curriculum and facilitates quarterly faculty development seminars for ambulatory teaching faculty. He also supervises resident physicians in their primary care continuity clinic.

In addition to his academic roles, Dr. Quick is a board-certified internist with an active ambulatory practice. He is actively involved in the American College of Physicians, where he serves as Chair of the Health and Public Policy Committee, leading the Chapter’s state and federal advocacy initiatives.
