Addie Witt, DO

Professional Background

Dr. Witt is an assistant clinical professor and pediatric attending in the outpatient setting. She has a particular interest in newborn care and supporting first-time parents. She earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine and a Master's in Bioethics from Kansas City University and completed her pediatric residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago. She served as the chief resident, and during that year assisted in developing or improving multiple curriculums, including a breastfeeding elective, a professional development program, and the intern bootcamp.

Her QI work has included initiatives on providing resources for various social determinants of health and improving resident reporting of lab results to families. She prioritized undergraduate medical education and graduate medical education during her residency and chief year, presenting frequently on general pediatric topics and assisting in various clinical skills courses for medical students and interns.

Dr. Witt's clinical philosophy focuses on shared decision-marking, patient education, and career-long relationships with families. She is committed to helping patients build the skills to advocate for their own health, including helping adolescents prepare for the transition to adult care. She looks forward to continuing to prioritize patient advocacy, medical education, and quality improvement in her role at KU.
