Professional Background
Dr. Ortman is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology, Pain, and Perioperative Medicine at the University of Kansas Medical Center and a Board-Certified Physician at the University of Kansas Health System. Dr. Ortman completed a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. She then switched specialties and completed a residency in Anesthesiology, Pain Medicine and Critical Care at Massachusetts General Hospital followed by a fellowship in Cardiothoracic Anesthesia at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, Massachussetts. She is board-certified in Anesthesiology and Advanced Perioperative Echocardiography.
