Ashley Askew, MD
Assistant Professor, General Medicine Ambulatory
Professional Background
I earned my medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine–Wichita and completed my Internal Medicine–Pediatrics residency at the University of Missouri–Kansas City, where I also served as Chief Resident in Internal Medicine. I am board certified in both Internal Medicine and Pediatrics.
I joined the University of Kansas Internal Medicine faculty in 2022 and now focus my clinical practice exclusively on adult primary care while maintaining my Pediatrics certification. I also serve as a preceptor in the Internal Medicine residency clinic and participate in medical student education.
My clinical interests include preventive care, women’s health, type 2 diabetes, hypertension, weight management, sleep disorders, headache management, and mental health. I also value caring for colleagues working in health care.
I am committed to building long‑term relationships with patients and providing evidence‑based, holistic care that supports health across the lifespan and reduces the burden of chronic disease.
