Research
Overview
Angela's research interests focus on workplace violence in healthcare, particularly violence experienced by emergency nurses, and its impact on mental health, workforce well-being, and retention. Influenced by both her clinical experiences and her advocacy work with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP), she is especially interested in the intersection of healthcare policy, workplace safety, and mental health.
Her doctoral research examines differences in workplace violence experiences across rural and urban emergency departments and evaluates the effectiveness of organizational practices and public policies designed to prevent violence and support healthcare workers. Through her research, Angela aims to contribute evidence that informs safer healthcare workplaces, strengthens support systems for nurses, and advances policies that promote both clinician well-being and quality patient care.
