The University of Kansas Master of Science in Clinical Research (MS-CR) degree is a 33-credit hour program. Clinical research includes investigating mechanisms of disease, health interventions, clinical trials, technology development, epidemiological and behavioral studies, health services and outcomes research and the translation of these findings into practice.

Graduates from the MS-CR pursue careers in a wide range of fields, including clinical medicine, research, education and disease surveillance. This degree is designed to provide clinical scholars with a strong foundation in patient-oriented research principles and methods.

The MS-CR program is offered through the Department of Population Health at both the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City and the University of Kansas School of Medicine in Wichita. Our program is: 

• Flexible. Offering both part-time and full-time options as well as hybrid modalities. 
• Proven. Our graduates are provided with a strong foundation in patient-oriented research principles and methods that allow graduates to pursue careers in clinical medicine, research, education, disease surveillance and more.
• Experienced.  Faculty are nationally recognized and bring expertise in numerous areas of research, methods, and approaches: including clinical trials, epidemiology, secondary analysis of large data sets, and bioinformatics.

The MS‑CR curriculum is designed with flexibility to support students’ current clinical research and the development of their ongoing research programs, in close collaboration with research mentors in their chosen content area. We look forward to your participation in our program!
