Our 2024–2025 Annual Report highlights Project Eagle’s work to support young children and families in Wyandotte County through high-quality early childhood education, home visiting, family support, health and mental health services, and community partnerships.

During the 2024–2025 program year, Project Eagle Early Head Start and Head Start served 343 families and 432 children and pregnant women. Project Eagle maintained an average enrollment of 292, with 299 funded enrollment slots across our center-based and home visiting programs.

Health & Prenatal Impact

Project Eagle works to ensure children enter learning environments healthy and ready to grow through early screening, access to care, and coordinated health services.

• 94% of enrolled pregnant women received prenatal care
• 87% of children were up to date or on a catch-up immunization schedule
• 98% of children had health insurance coverage
• 100% of children who needed dental treatment received or were scheduled for care
• 75% of children enrolled at the end of the program year received lead screenings at 12 and 24 months
• Fewer than 1% of children tested had elevated lead levels

Family Engagement

Project Eagle recognizes parents and caregivers as their child’s first and most influential teachers. Families participate in goal-setting, leadership opportunities, parent cafés, playgroups, workshops, home-based learning experiences, and other activities that strengthen family well-being and children's development.

During the 2024–2025 program year:

• 159 families attended Parent Cafés
• 23 parents served on Policy Council
• 22 family playgroup socializations were held
• Families set 506 goals during the spring assessment period
