I was born and raised in the Dallas–Fort Worth area and attended the University of Texas at Arlington for my undergraduate studies. Prior to medical school, I worked in the laboratory of Dr. Qing Tang, investigating c-di-AMP, a second messenger critical for the survival of Listeria monocytogenes during thymine starvation, and characterizing the transcriptional regulation of the glutamine synthesis operon in Staphylococcus aureus.

My time in the laboratory convinced me to pursue an MD-PhD, where I could combine my interest in clinical medicine with a newfound passion for mechanistic basic science to advance and refine therapeutic approaches. I am interested in pursuing graduate training in microbiology or immunology and remain open to a wide range of medical specialties, with a particular interest in infectious diseases.

In my spare time, I enjoy writing and recording instrumental rock music, hiking in Colorado, and knitting.
