The KEE system provides opportunities for visitors ranging from high school and college students to working professionals
Non-KUMC Medical Students
Students seeking 4th year elective VSLO opportunities should contact the School of Medicine directly.
KEE Research Experiences
- High School or College Students participating in educational experiences for academic credit or to meet the program requirements of another institution require a written affiliation agreement between the University of Kansas Medical Center and the individual's home educational institution. The Office of General Counsel must approve all such agreements and they must comply with the applicable policies of the KU school hosting the rotation or practicum experience. Please contact tgilmore4@kumc.edu for more details.
Working Professionals
- Visiting working professionals are eligible to participate in KEE research experiences.
Those Ineligible for KEE Research Experiences (still welcome, but enter through sources other than KEE)
- University of Kansas Medical Center students and employees do not need to go through KEE; instead, they coordinate with the sponsoring department.
- Visitors from other medical schools (see policy update above) approved for senior electives through the Association of American Medical Colleges Visiting Student Application Service (VSAS) can participate in research experiences at the University of Kansas Medical Center. Contact the School of Medicine Dean's Office with questions.
- Foreign nationals (visitors who are not U.S. Citizens, permanent residents or DACA students) must contact the Office of International Programs to discover what educational experiences are available.
- Visiting faculty who have received a visiting faculty appointment through the Office of Faculty Affairs.
- Researchers visiting the University of Kansas Medical Center to engage in research collaboration.
