This summer, nurse educators from across the state will gather in Wichita for an event designed to energize, connect and equip those shaping the future of nursing. The Kansas Nurse Educator Conference 2026, taking place July 15–16 at Newman University, offers two days of meaningful learning, collaboration and renewed purpose. 

Designed for nurse educators, APRNs, clinical instructors, and health care professionals involved in nursing education. Attendees will explore forward-thinking approaches to teaching and leadership while building connections with peers who understand both the challenges and rewards of educating the next generation of nurses. 

This year’s conference focuses on three key themes: innovation, leadership and educator wellbeing. Through interactive sessions and dynamic breakout discussions, participants will learn practical strategies they can take back to their classrooms and clinical environments. Conference topics — including design thinking, evidence-based teaching strategies and tips to prevent burnout — aim to offer immediately useful and deeply relevant solutions for attendees. 

This year’s keynote speakers will bring energy and expertise to inspire attendees. 

Dan Weberg, RN, Ph.D., MHI, a nationally recognized expert in healthcare innovation, leadership and human-centered design, will lead a workshop on Wednesday, July 15. Dr. Weberg’s extensive experience spans clinical care, academia and executive leadership, including his current role as Executive Director of Nursing Workforce Development and Innovation at Kaiser Permanente. His keynote will challenge attendees to think differently about innovation in education and workforce development, while offering actionable insights grounded in real-world experience. 

Amanda Gore, the creator of the  framework, will lead our opening session on Thursday, July 16.   Amanda is renowned for her dynamic presence and practical insights, which earned her a place in the National Speakers Association’s Speaker Hall of Fame. Amanda will speak about  helping individuals move from stress and burnout to connection and high performance.   Equal parts science, storytelling and inspiration, Amanda’s session will leave audiences motivated and equipped with tools they can use right away. 

Beyond the sessions and speakers, the conference also offers opportunities to connect with colleagues from across Kansas. 

At the end of day one, attendees are invited to a come-and-go networking opportunity featuring poster presentations. This relaxed gathering offers a chance to continue conversations, exchange ideas and learn from colleagues’ work in a more informal setting.
