Faculty Concerns Committee

Welcome to the Faculty Concerns Committee page for the KU School of Medicine, School of Nursing, and School of Health Professions. We are here to ensure your voice is heard and your workplace experience is supported.

Our Purpose

The Faculty Concerns Committee provides a structured, advisory pathway for faculty to raise issues regarding the work environment, professional conduct, or workplace climate. We collaborate with school leadership to ensure your concerns are acknowledged, reviewed, and addressed fairly.

Note for University of Kansas Health System Faculty: Concerns specific to the University of Kansas Health System should be directed to Medical Staff and/or the School of Medicine Faculty Council.

How to Submit a Concern

You can submit your feedback, complaints, or concerns through our secure electronic form.

  • Identified Submission: Provide your name and contact info so we can follow up with you directly or ask for clarification if needed.
  • Anonymous Submission: You may choose to remain completely anonymous. Please note: We will fully review anonymous entries, but we cannot contact you for more details or provide direct status updates.

What to Expect (Our Process)

Once a concern is submitted, the committee follows a strict, confidential review process:

  1. Acknowledgment: If you provided your contact details, we will confirm receipt of your submission.
  2. Initial Review: We evaluate the issue to determine if it falls within our scope or if it needs to be referred to a specialized office (such as Human Resources or Compliance).
  3. Leadership Collaboration: When institutional action or awareness is required, we safely escalate the issue to the appropriate Dean or administration to facilitate a resolution.
  4. Follow-Up: We provide direct updates to identified submitters, or share general, de-identified updates on broader trends with the wider faculty body.

Confidentiality & Trust

Your privacy is our priority. The committee is not an investigative or disciplinary body; rather, we serve as a safe liaison between faculty and leadership. All submissions, discussions, and records are handled with strict discretion and align with KUMC data privacy and management policies.
