Are you working on a long-term writing project like a dissertation, thesis, or manuscript? Would you benefit from accountability? The Writing Center is offering a Winter Writing Retreat to provide dedicated time to make accelerated progress on your projects. We will hold hybrid meetings for the first two weeks in June (1-11), on Mondays-Thursdays from 9am-noon, which you are welcome to join in person in Dykes Library G012 or via Teams. Together, we will set SMART goals for each day, discuss productive writing strategies, and most importantly write independently, together. Coffee and snacks will be provided. If you are able to commit to attending the majority of our 8 meetings (June 1-4, 8-11), please sign up here. Reach out to Dr. Lisa Brune (lbrune@kumc.edu) with any questions.
Residency Personal Statement Faculty Panel
Who: Medical students preparing for residency
On Thursday, June 4, we invited medical students to join faculty from the Departments of Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Surgery, and Anesthesia for a panel discussion on what to say (and what not to say) in your residency personal statements. We aimed to make the event useful for students applying to any specialty, not just the departments represented. Missed it? Click here to view the recording.
